Making things ready for the move is very important. Start by making sure that only your belongings are packed. The loaders will load anything that is loose so if it is not yours, make sure it is put up and out of sight. Children should make sure that the toys they want to travel with are with them, and not near the boxes to be moved.

The biggest fear for most people using moving companies is the loss of irreplaceable items. To prevent these things happen, pack fragile items carefully. Mark the boxes legibly where it can be seen immediately. Advising the loaders of the breakable items is not a bad idea.

When vehicle arrives, it is suggested that someone is there to meet them. If it is convenient, direct them room by room. Staying out of their way is important if you want the progress done quickly.

Stay out of the path of the workers. If you have extra hands, or can manage yourself, try helping them to make their job much more efficient.

If you are not ready to trust another person with your precious belongings, that is okay. There is an alternative. You can rent a moving truck from any number of reputable businesses. This, however will take more time than you might want to spend because you will have to buy the boxes, do the packing, and then pick up the truck.
